Last Man Standing season 7 episode 19 spoilers: Vanessa’s mom returns

Susan Sullivan

Now that Last Man Standing season 7 has introduced us to the character of Vanessa’s mom, did you really think that they were going to keep her from us the rest of the season? There’s just too much fun on having her around! For starters, she’s such a different character than her daughter, and she also has this new relationship with Ed. It’s the sort of thing that threw Mike and Vanessa for a loop and judging on what we’re hearing about episode 19, that reaction hasn’t quite gone away. Instead, we could be seeing a little bit of interference going down courtesy of Mike himself.

The idea of Mike getting involved in his mother-in-law’s relationship is one part ridiculous, and one part hilarious. There’s no way in which this ends well, even if maybe on some level Vanessa and Ed will realize that this is a sign that he does care for the two of them … albeit in his own signature, at-times cynical way. What’s rather remarkable is that he seems to be doing it against the advice of his own wife.

For more, CarterMatt has the official Last Man Standing season 7 episode 19 synopsis below:

When Ed and Bonnie (guest star Susan Sullivan) start spending more time together, Vanessa doesn’t want Mike to interfere with their relationship. So of course, he does. Meanwhile, Mandy and Kyle eavesdrop on Kristin and Ryan through their new home security system in the all-new “Otherwise Engaged” episode of LAST MAN STANDING airing Friday, March 22 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LMS-719) (TV-PG D, L)

The Mandy/Kyle storyline is probably going to be the closest thing to a hacker theme that we’re ever going to get on Last Man Standing and this is probably one of the few shows that could actually pull something like this off. Spying on your sister via a home security system is not exactly something that we’d recommend to really anyone (just think about the rage and/or lawsuits or worse if this happened in real life), but this show is probably still going to find a way to make it funny. Mandy and Kyle also probably don’t mean anything malicious about it; they’re probably just being a little bit devilish and wanting to have a good time. We’re certainly interested to see how Kristin and Ryan find out since there’s about a 0.000001% chance that they go through this entire episode without learning the truth. It’s so much more fun if they do! We know that for us, this show’s real charm comes via its ability to turn family conflicts into something that are both funny and also incredibly relatable. There are issues to work through, but they find a way to smile on the other side of them.
