Oscars 2019 red carpet live stream: Where & when to watch
Live Television – If you’ve got a cable package, this may be the preferred way to go — you can just put the red-carpet coverage on while you go about setting up your Oscar party. (Those snacks are not going to prepare themselves!) E!’s red-carpet coverage is by far the most extensive, and it kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Pacific time (or 5:00 p.m. Eastern). Typically, the bigger stars arrive in the second half of the event, so you won’t miss as much if you don’t catch all of the coverage right away.
E!’s coverage has improved slowly over time, as the anchors try to move away from the more-inane questions and some of the ridiculous camera angles have been done away with. (Remember the mani-cam? That’s the stuff of nightmares…) This show is still mostly a fashion showcase, though, as a red-carpet environment is not the place you are going to get new perspectives on life. It’s fairly superficial, though occasionally you get a little bit of surprise humor.
Red Carpet Live Stream – We know that there are a lot of people who’d prefer to just check out the coverage on their tablet while they go about doing some other stuff — rest assured, there is also a way to do just that!
Starting at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time (3:30 p.m. Pacific), the official Twitter account for the Academy will be bringing you coverage of the red carpet, the stars, the fashion, and probably everything else you could possibly want. Laura Marano of Austin & Ally is one of the co-hosts alongside writer and journalist Louis Vitrel. They will also be joined by Chris Connelly.
Is there a proper live stream for the Oscars themselves?
If you are an ABC subscriber, you may be able to acquire one through their website; however, there is no free, authorized way to watch the show online. Don’t buy into all of the websites running those clickbait headlines encouraging you that they’ve got an answer — often, they do. They may just be linking you some unauthorized stream that is riddled with pop-ups and other stuff that could create a most unpleasant viewing experience.
As for CarterMatt’s coverage of the Oscars themselves
If anything extremely notable happens from the show, there may be something later. Yet, we’re also cognizant of the fact that CarterMatt is a television news site (we don’t cover film) and we are going to focus a lot of coverage today on events that are happening elsewhere.
