Last Man Standing season 7 episode 16: Mike’s ‘Urban Exploring’ debate

Last Man Standing

Last Man Standing season 7 episode 16 is entitled “Urban Exploring,” and that may be a reference to Boyd. How so? Well, this episode may be one of the most important ones of the entire season for the kid.

What we’ve come to know about Boyd (if you missed it, read our interview with Jet Jurgensmeyer here) is that he is of the age where he wants to stake his claim in the world. He’s developing his own identity, and a big part of that does mean getting some time away from his family. He wants to get out and see some of the world, but his brain is putting the metaphorical cart before the horse. What he thinks he may be ready to do out in society is different perhaps from what he actually can. Add to this the obvious concern that Kristen and all of her family could have in the boy being out in the world, doing whatever it is that he wants. There are people who could try to take advantage of that

For some more news on this episode — and the debate between Mike and Kristen that may come up in regards to Boyd — check out the official Last Man Standing season 7 episode 16 synopsis:

As Boyd’s sense of adventure grows, Mike and Kristen have different opinions on how much space they should give him. When Mandy and Kyle move into their apartment, they find Ryan isn’t a “fun” landlord in the all-new “Urban Exploring” episode of LAST MAN STANDING airing Friday, March 1 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LMS-716) (TV-14 L)

The story here for Mandy and Kyle is an extension of what you’re going to see on the February 22 episode, where you will have an opportunity to see Vanessa have some resistance, whether it be consciously or unconsciously, to the idea of her moving out and starting a new chapter of her life. Granted, it does seem like this is very much a chapter that is a part of the same book; she may be out from Mike and Vanessa’s shadow, but she’s still dealing with another familiar face in Ryan on a fairly regular basis — and in a different way than before.
