The World’s Best premiere: Start time, what you need to know

The World's Best

Tomorrow night on CBS, be prepared for an event like no other in The World’s BestIt’s an extremely ambitious competition show, one with big-name judges and talent from all over the world.

It’s also a show that CBS is absolutely expecting to get some big ratings for. After all, they wouldn’t be airing it immediately after the Super Bowl otherwise. There really is no specific start time for the new show, but we would go ahead and start watching the big game at around 9:30 p.m. or so Eastern, just in case it for whatever reason wraps up super-early. (Odds are, many of you are going to be watching the game anyway.)

The video below serves as a nice introduction to the new series, including the judging panel of Drew Berrymore, RuPaul Charles, and then also Faith Hill. James Corden is going to host, and he’ll be in charge of having fun with the acts and keeping the show moving along. The way the competition works is fairly simple — the acts (who come from all over the world) have to impress not only the judges but also the Wall of the World — international experts in all fields of entertainment. If they get enough approval, they get a chance to move on to the next round.

The idea of this show seems to be to bring the network into a talent-show place and serve up a nice rival to shows like America’s Got Talent or American Idol. It’s always going to be compared to those shows but, at the same time, it’s not really fair to judge it before we see it.

What are we planning in terms of coverage?

Quite a bit, actually! Not only are we going to have episode reviews throughout the season, but we will be also giving you a lot of video content over on our YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe in the event you want to make sure that you don’t want to miss any updates along the way. The first video and review will be up in the moments that follow Sunday night’s episode.
