The Ransom season 3 premiere will feature surprising guest stars
Below, CarterMatt has the Ransom season 3 premiere synopsis for you with some specifics as to the case itself:
“Justice” – Eric and the Crisis Resolution team are brought in to negotiate a blood money payoff when a man is murdered and his wife is threatened to be next, on the third season premiere of RANSOM, Saturday, Feb. 16 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Real-life hostage negotiators Laurent Combalbert and Marwan Mery, the inspiration for the series, guest star as themselves.
With a show like Ransom, the biggest struggle is always just going to be finding a way to get the word out there that this show is still on the air. It airs at effectively the worst time imaginable for any series and beyond that, there just isn’t much promotion on the CBS end. They have incentive to continue to carry it just because of the fact that it’s a Canadian series that they don’t have an enormous financial investment in, so we’re still glad to see it continue airing, but couldn’t CBS give it a little bit of a promotional push?
We’re also glad that it’s premiering a little bit earlier in the year this go-around, largely due to the fact that this will give it more of a chance to shine — there are more viewers naturally around in the winter, and it really does need to take advantage of the fact that there is likely a large pool of people out there who’ll be staying inside during some of the colder months of the year. If some of these viewers need something to watch, Ransom could very well welcome them with open arms.
Should you check it out?
If you do love intense procedural dramas with memorable characters and cases, it’s going to be right up your alley. It’s a show that every week, finds a way to deliver a hostage crisis that is different from any other — while still maintaining a high level of excitement.
