So what is this twist all about? Basically, it’s a way to help give a houseguest power to remove themselves from the block at one of the next two nomination or Veto Ceremonies — it actually feels a little bit similar to Tyler’s power app from this past season of the flagship show.
As for who is going to be getting the power, we have a feeling that Tom Green is going to be a candidate, mostly because he’s so well-received online. We also do think that Natalie Eva Marie has some fans.
In the past, we have seen a lot of people try to unite behind an underdog choice for this sort of power, but when you look around the house, you almost have to wonder if there is actually a genuine underdog choice in there. Is there anyone who America is behind who is outside of the core alliance? Do we think that Ryan Lochte had a small chance of getting it? Sure, but he’s gone now. We have a hard time seeing Joey Lawrence get it, just because he’s not getting the same sort of likable edit that we’ve seen from other people in the game at the moment.
Of course, there’s going to be a lot of people out there who dislike this twist just because it’s more fun to see the game played in a little more of a pure way — we understand that perspective fully. Of course, we also do think at the same time that it is par for the course for the show to have something like this, given that more often than not, we tend to see a little bit of something like this on the series. This is a way to make the public feel like they are a part of the process.
