America’s Got Talent: The Champions review: Brian Justin Crum, Kenichi Ebina, & more

America's Got Talent: The Champions

Tonight, America’s Got Talent: The Champions will be bringing you hopefully an episode full of great performances and interesting choices. Like the first three episodes, only two acts are guaranteed to make it to the finale, and this article is all about discussing them!

Below, you can see our full review of these said performers, and as a reminder, be sure to refresh for more updates along the way!

Issy Simpson – The kid magician was a sensation of Britain’s Got Talent, and we are pleased to say that she’s got much of the same magical prowess here that she had on that version of the show. She’s charismatic and she knows what she’s doing on stage — she does have work to go before being a top-tier magician, but she’s rather awesome for her age.

The Texas Tenors – We’re going to be the first to say that we don’t really remember every one of their original performances — it was so long ago! Yet, that doesn’t take away from the fact that we do still find them fantastic vocalists with a lot of power. We wish they did a different song (“Unchained Melody” is a little dated), but you can’t question their pure ability.

Tape Face – What he does is always great, mostly because he’s such a unicorn when you think a little bit about the larger competition at large. He’s a mime! He’s insanely creative, but he also has a habit of incorporating the audience into his act in just about every way that he possibly can. He’s fun, and different!

Paul Zerdin – The ventriloquist is back! He won his particular season of the show and we know him to be one of the funniest people in his field. The parts with his puppet were great, but we also did enjoy the part with the elevator just as much.

Moonlight Brothers – These two guys are coming at you from the Danish version of the show, and they are fun and they have some creative moves — they’re just a few steps below some of the best crews in America quality-wise.

Drew Lynch – He actually lost to Paul on his season of the show, but we think that he may have actually bested him tonight with a routine that was great — and also super-creative when it comes to him losing his retainer at the restaurant.

Kechi – Check out our full take on her Golden Buzzer act here! We do like her very much, but personally, we probably would’ve gone in a non-singing direction here.

The Professional Regurgitator – What he does is frankly super-gross, but it is also incredibly unique. This dude eats stuff and randomly finds a way to make some sort of act around it. Tonight, that included him cutting a tomato in half after swallowing it and a razor. Simon buzzed him, mostly because it was making him sick.

Brian Justin Crum – Probably the most underrated singer in the history of America’s Got Talent. He’s got a great voice and he can hit just about EVERY note possible. What’s most impressive about him is that he can go from that high register to super-low in a short period of time. He knows his voice and how to make all of it work.

Kenichi Ebina – He’s the best. We don’t know what else we really need to say about it. He’s our favorite performer who has ever been a part of the show. We loved this routine — it creative, thought-provoking, and we even liked the cute robo-dog he threw in there.
