Outlander season 4 finale photos (part 2): The state of Sophie Skelton’s Brianna

We’re back with another set of Outlander season 4 finale photos, and for the sake of this feature, we’re putting the focus almost entirely on the story of Brianna — and for good reason. After all, she is getting close to giving birth! As a matter of fact, there’s a brief bit of footage of her running in the promo for the finale that may take place after the big event.

The image above features Sophie Skelton front and center, as Phaedre is doing what she can in order to care for her as she reaches this important moment in her life. Brianna is back at River Run now as she prepares to welcome her baby, and the real point of contention is whether or not we’re going to be seeing Jamie, Claire, Roger, Young Ian, or anyone else make it back to the estate in time to experience it first-hand. Even in the event Roger is rescued and the group heads back, we’re still talking here about a lengthy journey. It’s no easy task making the trek up to the Mohawk village in New York when Fraser’s Ridge is all the way down in North Carolina.

As least we know that Brianna does have some characters around her who care, including some longtime members of the Fraser family. This is where Murtagh comes into play!

The image above features Duncan Lacroix’s character back at River Run, clearly doing okay in the midst of the rescue on this past episode. Maybe Jocasta is allowing him some safety — he’s going to need it! His presence guarantees that Brianna has at least one ally around, though we do have questions still about Lord John Grey. He and Brianna are set to marry, but he is not featured in the photos that we’ve seen.

As for how Jocasta herself likely feels about all of this, she must feel at least reasonably satisfied. She wanted Brianna to marry — this is the way of her world, and now she is betrothed to a Lord. In terms of the family’s public perception and status in the area, this would certainly be a good thing … right? Well, the American Revolution could change things, but for now, it definitely seems to put them in a good place status-wise.
