Outlander season 4 finale video: Will Brianna give birth?

The Outlander season 4 finale is airing on Starz in six days’ time now and judging from the last promo, there’s a lot to expect coming up. This is going to be a dramatic, thrilling conclusion, and we certainly do think that there is still a lot of ground to cover when it comes to the story.

In the promo below for this episode, you get a reasonably good sense of the wide array of content that is coming up in the episode. For starters, you’re going to be seeing the epic quest to retrieve Roger reach its peak, mostly because Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian are at Shadow Lake. Jamie seems to be running some sort of epic operation to try and extract Roger at night, but eventually, things could turn violent in their attempts to free Roger from the Mohawk tribe.

This could be a story about freedom, about survival, and also to a certain extent redemption depending on how events play out. We know that so much work was put into the Mohawk village that we’re sure the producers are going to want to spend some time there.

Will Brianna give birth?

One of the things we initially wondered about the finale was mostly if there would even be time for us to see Brianna welcome her baby into the world, given the fact that Jamie and Claire are still so far away from River Run. Yet, you have Claire saying “I want to take you away from here” to someone who clearly looks like Brianna from the back of her head, signaling that maybe she makes it back to her in time. We know that Brianna does have some sort of role to play in the finale, as she contemplates what her own life and future is going to be now that she is about to be a mother. For a time, she will doubt whether or not Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian will even make it back — let alone with Roger along for the ride.

If Bree does give birth, it will mean that the fifth season can start off with her in a different place in her life. We imagine that the show will try to deliver a number of new storylines then, as we will see the evolution of Fraser’s Ridge and a movement into The Fiery Cross, which is the next book in the Diana Gabaldon series.
