Charmed episode 11 preview: Gina Rodriguez directs ‘With Perfect’

Charmed

Are you interested in seeing what is coming up on Charmed episode 11? We’re gearing up for an installment entitled “Witch Perfect” that is, in part, about music. You’re going to see Maggie in particular try to dive into a new world, mostly because she’s looking for a little bit of a break. This remains some of what the CW series is doing best this year — trying to find a way to combine human stories with some of the supernatural.

Personally, we’re hoping that Charmed really leans into the fun here — we’re hoping for an installment that really does that title justice. Can you imagine having an episode with a Pitch Perfect-inspired title that doesn’t really have some fun with music? We imagine that there are going to be some surprise turns with Maggie’s story, but that probably won’t happen immediately.

Below, CarterMatt has the official Charmed episode 11 synopsis as to what’s coming up:

SING A SONG – Macy (Madeleine Mantock) is eager to share the information she has learned with her sisters, but is thrown by their reaction to the news. To cheer herself up, Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) decides to try out for an a capella group, but something doesn’t feel right about the group. Meanwhile, Mel (Melonie Diaz) runs into an unexpected person from her past. Rupert Evans and Ser’Darius Blain also star. Gina Rodriguez directed the episode written by Natalia Fernandez (#111). Original airdate 1/27/2019

Beyond the story, one of the most notable things about this episode is clearly the presence of Rodriguez as director. For those wondering, this is not the only time that the Jane the Virgin star has taken on this role — she’s already done it previously for her own CW series, and there is another one on tap for her during the upcoming final season. Still, we do find it fun any chance that we have to see a great talent expand their horizons a little bit — it’s a role that Rodriguez could take on for either this show or others again down the road. (Heck, it’s possible that she could helm a feature film down the line — doing these TV episodes is a valuable experience.)

In general, we hope that there are some fun things that happen in this episode, given that there won’t be an installment airing on the other side the following week. Thank the Super Bowl for that.
