God Friended Me episode 12 video: Prepare for ‘Ready Player Two’

Want to know some of what’s coming on God Friended Me episode 12? Well, this may be the episode that gives you more of a sense as to who Pria really is … and also gives us some more clues on the big God Account mystery in the process.

For the time being, though, it does feel as though God Friended Me really isn’t altogether interested in trying to aggressively push any specific story in the promo below for tomorrow’s episode. Yet, at the same time, do they really need to? Is there any specific reason for them to hype too much in advance? There’s probably a sentiment among CBS bigwigs that they’ve already set the table enough for what’s next via some of the cliffhanger endings at the end of the fall finale.

Beyond that, though, CBS’ promotional strategy seems to, understandably, just be trying to get new viewers on board the show before it kicks off in the new year. That’s why the promo feels a little bit more like an extended recap than a tease at some of what’s coming up on the show next. It’s also a reminder of the series’ positive message and some of the word that Miles has been able to do since the God Account came into his life. He’s going from being a person who’s spent the better part of his time denying various things when it comes to faith to someone who is actually starting to understand the importance of it. We don’t think per se that it’s a show about religion as much as a show about hope.

Also, for Miles it’s about the friends that he’s met along the way. His work has allowed him to get closer to the likes of Cara and Rakesh and they’ve formed a bond that almost no one else will ever understand in a million years. (We do still think, by the way, that there is a chance to see Cara and Miles become something more than just friends, but we’re not altogether sure that the show is going to rush it. The only way we’d imagine they would is in the event that the show was ending … which it doesn’t seem to be right now.)

On the other side of episode 12, there are some pretty fantastic stories coming — including getting a chance to see Miles receive dozens of friend suggestions all at once! If the series wants to keep this narrative device going, clearly they are going to have to get creative with it.
