As we get set for the Gotham season 5 premiere in just two days, why not have a little bit of fun in the process?

Today, let’s kick things off with the latest teaser for the new season, this time featuring none other than Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. the Penguin. While there isn’t anything necessarily earth-shattering here, we do think that it serves as yet another reminder that in 2019, Oswald is just getting started when it comes to his life as a crime boss.

We can’t really detect any lies here, given what we know about his future — also, Gotham already gave it away that the series is flashing forward at the very end of the series finale and giving you a sense of what Batman’s actual world will look like. This means actually having an opportunity in order to see a more fully-formed version of Oswald that is close to what is in the Batman comics.

As for the second thing we want to bring you, consider this something that we never imagined we would be getting — a funny mash-up video with this show and Steve Harvey. Typically, we find the Family Feud host to be somewhat unintentionally-funny, but there is something that really worked about him being in the batcave with Bruce Wayne, saying that he has eight TV shows and doesn’t have time to be messing around with this. He also makes a very valid point to Bruce, as well — the guy’s a billionaire! What’s he doing spending all of his time down in a cave? Don’t there have to be some better uses for his own time?

Yes, there are logical Batman explanations for much of this out there, but insofar as a New Year’s Eve spoof of the show goes, this is surprisingly funny and it’s only a minute or so of your time. Anything that gets the show some strong ratings in the future is absolutely something that we endorse. (We don’t really get a sense that a season 6 is coming anytime soon, but we do think that it would be nice to just have the show end on a high note.)
