This Is Us season 3 winter premiere: Some early expectations!

Of course, the biggest reason to be excited about the winter premiere stems from the big reveal in the fall finale that Kevin’s brother Nicky did not actually die in Vietnam. As psyched as we are for answers there, though, we have to remember that, at least for right now, we are in a position where we actually have a little bit more information than Kevin or any other member of the Pearson family. It’s probably going to take some time for Kevin to learn that Nicky is still actually alive, let alone living not all that far away from Pittsburgh.
What we can say about the winter premiere, via TVLine, is that we will see Kate and Toby get ready to be parents! While there is no guarantee that the baby will be born in this episode, we are inching ever closer to that date. Meanwhile, Kevin is going to interact with an important person from his girlfriend Zoe’s past and there will be some significant fallout from Randall’s political campaign. With the latter, there is a serious cause for concern in that he made a promise to Beth that he would stop the campaign the moment that it was clear he couldn’t win. He broke that promise, and the coldness of the relationship between Beth and Randall in the future timeline has us extremely worried about their relationship. Maybe some of that coldness is really just ambiguity that we are reading too much into, but there is still major concern over the two. They’ve had a wonderful relationship through the majority of the series and seeing it break off and splinter is not something that we want. Doesn’t there have to be a way to make things better?
The simple answer here is that Randall should shut down the campaign. It just remains to be seen if he will.
