Good Trouble season 1 trailer: The next step for Callie, Mariana

As we get closer to January 8, it’s clear that Good Trouble on Freeform is right around the corner! This is a series that the network is promoting rather hard at present, and we get it for so many reasons.

First and foremost, this show is a chance to follow up on the success of The Fosters, which was a super-stable hit for them for a rather long time. Beyond that, this series is also a chance for them to talk about young adulthood in a way that few other series do. The majority of series out there tend to feature characters that are either slightly younger or older than Callie and Mariana Adams Foster are in this series. It’s a chance to really portray a part of life that is often ignored — these characters have their education and, at least on paper, have the potential to make tons of money and find a great deal of success for themselves.

Yet, life isn’t going to be all that easy for the two of them. They each have difficult jobs, and beyond that, they also are going to have super-complicated personal lives. They will continue to have a lot to balance and take on and there will be people ready and willing to slam doors in their face.

Good Trouble is a show that is going to touch on some very serious stuff, basically the sort of things that you would expect for young women in 2018. They will have to battle sexism, preconceived notions, and just a world that isn’t always set up to help young people. Yet, there will also be some victories that come their way. We don’t believe that Good Trouble is out to continuously smash hearts. There will be some moments of joy and we’re looking forward to see how the writers handle that and show a wide array of dimension for some of these characters. There’s a lot to like about this series, even if there will be a lot of devastation along the way, as well. It’s going to be accomplishing so many different things and hopefully generating a ton of reactions out of its viewers.

We say all of this to set up / introduce the new one-minute trailer below, which should give you as good of a sense as you’re going to get about the story, the characters, and how the show will play out in the early going. Of course, there are still probably some surprises that aren’t highlighted here at all.
