The Conners episode 9 spoilers: Is someone getting fired?

The Conners episode 9, airing on Tuesday, January 8, is going to be the first episode of the new year. With that, the show is going big with its return! “Rage Against the Machine” is an installment with some surprisingly-high stakes for at least one character, as it’s possible that, by the end of this episode, we could see someone being put out of a job. That someone is DJ based on what happens with his vending-machine route.

“Rage Against the Machine” – When Dan gets injured on the job covering D.J.’s vending machine route, the choice to sue the company could lead to D.J. getting fired. Meanwhile, Jackie is appalled when Lecy seeks life coaching from her nemesis and No. 1 competitor, Rita Silver, on an all-new episode of “The Conners,” TUESDAY, JAN. 8 (8:00-8:31 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

The obvious first question you have to wonder here is whether or not Dan is going to be okay — after all, we don’t want to see some other member of the Conner family dead! Luckily, there aren’t any signs that this is going to happen given that there’s been zero news out there about a major character being written out of the show. Yet, at the same time it’s clear that there are some ramifications that could still come out of what happens to him that impact DJ both now and in the future.

As for the Jackie storyline, we’re mostly just curious to see what this dynamic looks like with Rita coming on in this capacity. There’s a lot of fun that could come out of this, mostly because Jackie’s reaction to it could indicate very strongly that she is not the right life coach for the show and that the right decision was made ahead of time. (In our mind, some of the best storylines with shows like The Conners are ones that take a rather-simple, personal storyline and find a way to then spin them in a number of strange directions.)

The one sad thing to think about here is simply this: After this episode airs, there are only two more left! Are you shocked that this season has went by so fast?
