Blue Bloods season 9: Donnie Wahlberg, Will Estes, and a giant sandwich
In a new post on Instagram (see HERE), you can see series star Donnie Wahlberg alongside Will Estes and what may be one of the largest sandwiches that we’ve ever seen. Donnie notes that this is for a dinner scene and if that is the case, we can only imagine what some of the family commentary is going to be on this. After all, shouldn’t this prove to be rather delicious — in more ways than one? Family-dinner scenes are basically the big opportunity within the world of the show to get their perspective on the world, crazy as it may be at times. We feel like there’s going to be a lot of humor here but also some more serious conversations about policing. Basically, we anticipate that it’s going to feel very much similar to what we’ve seen consistently from Blue Bloods over the years. This is a series that has long prioritized memorable dinner scenes, which we imagine is not the easiest thing to do when you are close to a solid decade on the air.
So when could this particular scene air? Probably not for a couple of months, at least. Typically Blue Bloods tends to film a few episodes in advance, which means that we’re probably going to be seeing this story come around in either February or March, depending on the schedule. It’s hard to imagine a giant sandwich being involved in some sort of super-serious scene so with that, we’re picturing in our brain here something that is at least reasonably lighthearted and in line with the series’ softer, funnier side. Not everything has to be super-serious at family dinner all the time!
Remember now that new episodes of Blue Bloods will return to CBS on Friday, January 4 — this should be a really-great way to kick off the new year!
