Ink Master interview: Tim Stafford on elimination, Team Christian, and his fantastic shirts
In the latest exit interview below, Tim talks with CarterMatt about making it as far as he did this season, the final competition that sent him home, whether he would return to the show down the road, and a wide array of other topics.
CarterMatt – How did it feel to make it all the way to the final four?
Tim Stafford – I feel absolutely amazing that I made the top four. I was never expecting to make it that far. Pretty much the end of the [competition].
Were you nervous the moment that you learned about the tattoo marathon, given that the idea of doing fast, quick tattoos seemed to benefit Tony’s experience?
Everything about that last challenge was geared towards Tony’s skill set as a tattooer. Tony’s a faster tattooer than I [am] and he does more script and single needle than I [do], being that he works in a street shop.
Were you already thinking about potential ideas for the finale, had you made it there?
I was definitely starting to think up potential back pieces had I made it.
What was your relationship like with Christian throughout the competition?
Christian and I have always kept a pretty steady line of communication from [the] jump. I’ve never had any issues working with Christian; however, even in conflict I’d never hesitate to speak up.
Do you have any interest in coming back on the show at some point?
At this point I’d consider coming back in the future. I mean there’s only one way to out-do myself … and that’s to make it to the stage. I think that’s pretty cool.
Finally, we have to salute you as the fashion champion of Ink Master season 11! What was the inspiration behind all of your awesome shirts?
This year’s been crazy I told myself that this year would be my year of loafers and print and they just loved the food inspired print cloths so I got more of them lol. I love print and bright clothes what can I say. Lol.
