Chicago Fire season 7 episode 10 promo: The next move for Casey

Chicago Fire season 7

As we move into Chicago Fire season 7 episode 10 airing on NBC in January, we’re going to apparently have “the episode that changes everything.”

Obviously, there are some times that you hear something like this when it comes to an episode and it feels like hyperbole — and we certainly do understand why. There are so many episodes that don’t end up actually changing all that much at all, but it’s pretty clear this time around that there are actually some pretty-high stakes. How else do you describe a fire that is ablaze in Casey’s apartment? He and Naomi are going to be trapped in the bedroom together at the start of this episode, and following that, he’s going to have to find a way to get the two of them out to safety. It’s one thing for him to fight fires around the city; it is something altogether when he has to fight one at his own home.

There is another major twist that you also have to think about entering this episode: The notion that Casey and Naomi’s relationship could be made public to the majority of the firehouse after this. While we don’t exactly think that it’s lost on anyone that there were some feelings there, especially on Naomi’s part, it’s a little different when everyone knows that Casey has acted on some of those said feelings. He’s still in the process of splitting up from Dawson and we certainly think that is a complicated situation … though we’re not sure sleeping with Naomi changes all that much. While it may have been a little bit fast, Casey’s not the one who ended the relationship. This isn’t likely something that will be held against him in some sort of greater sense, except of course by some One Chicago fans who really did not want to see this happen.

The first order of business in this midseason premiere is obviously going to be determining whether or not Casey survives the cliffhanger; beyond that, there will be a chance to assess if there is anything more here when it comes to the relationship with Naomi. Of course, life also never really slows down as a part of Firehouse 51 and with that in mind, there will probably be some other fires and issues in the city that Firehouse 51 will be forced to take on.
