Legacies episode 6 video: Josie and Lizzie’s birthday ‘surprise’

Tonight, Legacies episode 6 is going to be coming onto The CW and with that, we certainly do hope that there are some fun things that we get a chance to see. Don’t Lizzie and Josie deserve a chance for some happiness, given that this is their birthday?

The sneak peek below certainly seems to be setting the Lizzie character up far more for a fall than a victory, as she is more or less gloating about the many wonderful things that are poised to happen to her. It’s her birthday, Caroline is presumably coming back, and she also just slept with Rafael … and apparently, she thinks that all of these things mean that she is being set up for the most spectacular celebration of all time. That’s not 100% the case.

For starters, Penelope (ever the thorn in some of these characters’ side) shows up to inform the twins that alas, Caroline will not be turning up. That’s a sad thing for them to have to deal with, but we as viewers have been fairly prepared for this for quite some time. Despite our personal desire that we would have some sort of opportunity to see more of this character coming up down the line, we haven’t actually seen or heard anything suggesting that Candice King is coming back.

As for the birthday itself, it doesn’t really take someone with mystical powers to realize that all of this is probably going to crumble and sooner rather than later. This is just the sort of world where bad things tend to routinely happen, especially when there are new monsters turning up around almost every corner. What makes this particular episode tonight so interesting is the return of “Jo” — or at least someone proclaiming themselves to be Jo. This is a character deeply rooted in The Vampire Diaries lore who is one of the only reasons why Josie and Lizzie are her. Her presence in this episode is almost sure to cause chaos … though we are of course just wondering how in the world she is back and what this actually means. Is this just going to represent some other sort of monster playing a dirty trick? Feels likely.

There are only a couple of episodes for Legacies coming this year — with that, you almost have to be certain that whatever happens here is not going to cool things off in terms of drama as we approach whatever the big, temporary send-off ends up being.
