Elseworlds trailer: Body swaps, Batwoman, and Gotham City

So what are we expecting specifically, based on this alone? Well, it seems as though much of what we’re getting here is a plan concocted in part by The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), who seems to have some sort of grand plan for the multiverse that involves having some other people play god and try to manipulate the world to fit a specific desire. All of this eventually leads to Barry Allen and Oliver Queen finding themselves in each other’s bodies, which proves to be quite a challenge since they don’t know how to really make sense of their new surroundings. No one else seems to be aware of the body swap and because of that, nobody really also knows what to make of it. This entire situation is complicated and we imagine that as we get closer to this episode airing, it’s probably going to only become even more complicated as a result.
There are some other goodies present in this trailer beyond just Barry and Oliver in different bodies. How can you watch this trailer and not be psyched to see John Wesley Shipp have an important role? His version of The Flash has been teased already and there’s something incredibly cool about him getting back into a suit that at least closely resembles the original from so many years beforehand. Also, this trailer gives you a little more of a sense of Ruby Rose and her version of Batwoman — plus also the iteration of Gotham City that could be used as a setting for her solo series at some point down the line.
Elseworlds basically looks as though it’s going to be a blast, and more or less everyone at The CW should be excited to actually be delivering this. It’s three different hours of entertainment with a number of super-identifiable heroes from start to finish. This is basically something that the Arrowverse can do that very few other superhero properties can — especially movies, given that they really only have so much time in order to introduce various characters?
Here’s your quick reminder that the Elseworlds crossover begins on Sunday with a special airing of The Flash — following that, we are going to have opportunities to see this world carry over to Arrow and then also Supergirl.
