The Good Doctor season 2 fall finale video: Meet Alex Park’s estranged son

As we learned a little bit earlier this season, some of the tension between Dr. Park and his son stems from when he left his family after learning that his wife was unfaithful. While she did a terrible thing, that does not justify his own act as a result of it. Basically, he ended up hurting Kellan as a result of it and this leads to the situation that the two are going to be in during this episode — it is a spot in which Kellan doesn’t have any real interest in being around his dad, or doing any of his suggested father/son bonding activities such as hitting the batting cages or taking part in a little bit of rock-climbing.
Well, what Alex and his son do not realize at the time of the sneak peek below (via TVLine) is that they are going to have a lot of time in order to bond together — it’s just not the sort of bonding time that anyone would necessarily want. Instead, what the two are going to be going through here will be an intense experience that is completely out of their control. After an airborne virus ends up traveling through the emergency room, we’re going to see a situation unfold in which Kellan is stuck in the emergency room alongside a number of other sick / healthy people. They may end up having to spend the entire holiday season there, which is probably very scary and also very depressing.
Is there a chance that Alex and Kellan could use this time to bond and get on the same page? Certainly, but we can’t exactly say that we’ve got super high hopes for it. The more likely scenario at the moment is that the two are going to get a little bit closer but still have some other issues to work through in the future. The good news is that it seems like the Kellan character will be recurring and because of that, there should be some other chances in order to see him and explore his story a little bit further down the line.
