Sugar season 2 spoilers: Colin Farrell on story ahead
If you are not aware for whatever reason, there are plenty of reasons to be stoked about Sugar season 2. For starters, it premieres in just a matter of days!
So what is going to make this chapter of the story different from what we saw the first go-around? We tend to think that there are a handful of things, but they begin with us already knowing as viewers that John Sugar is actually an alien. That sort of mystery is now plucked from the equation and we can see the world more directly through his eyes. Of course, it may be a lonely sentiment for him given that most of his fellow aliens have seemingly left the planet. Sure, there is still Henry, but it does feel clear that the two are hardly the best of friends.

So how does Colin Farrell himself describe this next chapter? Well, based at least on some of his recent commentary to Extra, it does feel like some emotional stuff is coming:
“He’s definitely contending with more human experiences in the second season than he hand to contend with in the first one. I think that’s by virtue of just being alone and being bored and being vulnerable, so he’s a little shaken at the start of the season. And he’s open to romance, he’s compelled toward violence, and he’s questioning both … But fundamentally, at his core, he’s a really decent character who has an unshakable belief in the goodness of human beings, which as we all know is, I think, a pretty hard belief to inhabit fully all the time when we look around us and we see what takes place on this planet.”
As Sugar ponders over the state of humanity this season, he will have two specific storylines to chase. There is the mystery of what happened to his sister but beyond that, also a new case to take on.
