Before we dive any further into this article, let’s make one thing rather clear: We understand there are already crossovers. This series has done plenty with Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and even Law & Order: SVU. Yet, are there some other shows that could be suitable for some sort of pairing! We like to think that there are for a few different reasons — and you can check out some more suggestions below.
The Blacklist – The case this one is fairly easy — Reddington and Liz come to Chicago in order to track down a notable Blacklister, someone who just so happens to also be a target of Intelligence. While we know The Blacklist is often a little bit more comic-book-like than Chicago PD, we do think that there is a good chance that these forces could collide in a really entertaining way.
Blindspot – We’re always going to argue for Blindspot the same way that we do for The Blacklist, given that both do have similar qualities and an eclectic, fun group of characters. The premise for the show makes it that the FBI could travel — with that, why not give this a shot?
FBI – While we’re happy that CBS has this show (or really, that somehow has this show at all), but at the same time it’s a bummer it’s not on NBC for the crossover potential. While this show may revolve around the New York office rather than Chicago, it does feel like there’s a little bit of room for cooperation and conflict.
Just bring back Law & Order or Chicago Justice already – Really? Can’t we dream about this? There was already a perfect crossover partner for Chicago PD already, but it was cut off well before its time. Chicago Justice had a lot of potential but was just stuck with a difficult timeslot and also a network that may have felt like they were starting to be overrun with Chicago shows (even though they, of course, were the ones who ordered it in the first place).
We don’t actually think that there will be any other external One Chicago crossovers — after all, why do that when you’ve got so many organic ones that you can push? There’s really not all that much of a need for anything else!
