Based on the promo below for this episode at the bottom of this article, one of the primary things that you are going to see is the character of Antonio Dawson in a situation that we never expected himself to be. He’s going to find himself on the run from police — most notably Burgess, who has her gun pointed at him thinking that he is some everyday perp. That’s not the case.
As for why in the world Antonio is finding himself in a position where he does need to run from the police, that’s a pretty fair question to ask. A lot of this may just stem from what has been happening as of late. He’s suffering from shoulder pain and with that, is becoming increasingly desperate with each passing week to try and find some sort of solution to make himself feel better. Alas, there isn’t all that much that is working. Antonio’s doctor doesn’t want to get him more pills and because of that, you do have to worry that perhaps he is starting to seek them more out via some rather-untoward means.
If Antonio is feeding his addiction illegally, what you have to wonder is then this: What does it mean for his future with Intelligence, let alone as a free man? Would someone like Burgess really look the other way if he is doing something that could damage her career. It’s not fair for him to ask her to compromise her own integrity, but this is something that could still happen if he’s desperate and not of the right mind.
No matter what happens, we imagine that Chicago PD season 6 is going to end the first half of its season on a fairly-intense note. While we know this show doesn’t always rely on enormous cliffhangers (it didn’t really have one at the end of this past season), it still reserves the right to go back and do this every now and then. A good cliffhanger can be effective since it can keep people talking about what is going to be coming up next.
