Charmed episode 7 preview: Closing a portal to hell

Charmed

How high are the stakes going to be entering Charmed episode 7 on The CW? We don’t think it takes too much to explain that. They’re going to be through the roof for a number of different reasons, with the biggest one being the sole fact that we’re watching some of these characters having to take on and grapple with demons. It doesn’t really get more threatening than having to take on demons! This is an episode that is going to be about closing a portal to hell, but at the same time a lot of personal drama to go along with it.

At this point, it should be fairly clear what the format of Charmed is — every week, you have a chance to see these characters have to figure out a way to work together in the midst of some personal drama that distracts them from a larger cause. It’s hard enough to be young and trying to figure out where you stand in the world; now, go ahead and add to this having the responsibility / burden (depending on how you look at it) of withcraft.

Below, CarterMatt has the official Charmed episode 7 synopsis with some other information when it comes to the story ahead:

CLARITY – After some unusual seismic activity, Harry (Rupert Evans) informs the sisters that Hilltowne is a portal to hell. With that said, the sisters must band together to fight off a shadowy demon that is trying to obtain a collection of powerful magical artifacts. Meanwhile, Macy (Madeleine Mantock) is given an exciting opportunity at work which comes with unexpected complications. Lastly, Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) has a conflict of conscience over her relationship with Parker (Nick Hargrove). Melonie Diaz also stars. Jamie Travis directed the episode written by Sarah Goldfinger (#107). Original airdate 11/25/2018.

How is Charmed performing at the moment?

When you look at the ratings of the first season so far, the biggest takeaway is that it’s a mixed bag. This is a series that got off to a pretty good start on Sunday nights, but since then it has slipped down to a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. On one level, that is far from terrible. There are shows on The CW that are faring worse! Yet, given that we’re still fairly early on in the season and ratings for shows often do slide over time, you do have to wonder if these numbers could fall even further into danger by the time we get around to the end of the season. While Charmed has a full-season order at the moment, we certainly do not think that the series is at any point in the schedule right now where you can be 100% confident in its future as a whole.
