Gotham season 5 Halloween teaser all about Jeremiah’s story
If you look below, you can see what is in part a highlight reel of Cameron Monaghan’s journey on the show. This is a guy who started off as a deranged person within the circus community in Jerome, and over time he went more and more off the rails. He died, came back to life, and then found a way to cause some more chaos. Eventually, he died again, but not after bringing us for the first time his brother Jeremiah.
After Jerome’s death, Jeremiah received one other “gift” from his brother: Madness. With that, he’s now even more off the rails than Jerome. He wants to create a new version of Gotham for the sake of his destruction, and it certainly seems as though he is the Big Bad and the most important foe entering the end of the show. How could that not make sense? We’re talking here, after all, about one of the most-important villains for Batman in the future.
(We do still need to point out that at the end of teaser, Gotham is still refusing to acknowledge that Jeremiah is the Joker. Instead, they refer to him as Mr. J — a name that is familiar given that this is a moniker that Harley Quinn has certainly used for him in the past. In Gotham, it does feel like Ecco is meant to be the show’s version of the character.)
As previously reported, the final season of Gotham is going to be premiering in early January. Not only that, but we’re going to be getting 12 episodes instead of the previous-announced ten. It’s a chance to get a little more story, and also give us hope for what Batman’s future could look like. (Unfortunately, things aren’t getting any easier in the future for Bruce Wayne.)
