To date, it’s clear that these two characters are linked, even if Voight doesn’t really want them to be. Without her, Hank realizes that he may not have his current position back. Unfortunately, her help means that he is stuck doing her bidding even if he doesn’t want to. That’s a hard think for him to accept and it’s going to lead to some really-difficult struggles for him coming up in the future.
Yet, we’re not that far down the road just yet, and it’s hard to think that we’re nearing the end of things when it comes to Voight and Brennan now. Remember that the entire saga with Woods happened over the course of a full season, so it’s certainly possible that this could be something similar. The only reason it could end earlier is because the Midterm Elections are coming and with this show’s current political focus, that could be a culmination of just about everything. Time will tell here.
Below, CarterMatt has the Chicago PD season 6 episode 6 synopsis with some other news as for what’s coming, at least in terms of some of what Brennan wants Voight to do next.
10/31/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Wednesday) : The wife of an alderman is beaten to death, and Voight (Jason Beghe) is under pressure from First Deputy Superintendent Brennan (guest star Anne Heche) to close the case. To elicit a confession, Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) tells a dark story about her childhood. TV-14 DLV
As for Upton opening up about her past, it’s certainly needed — we’ve had the character as a series regular for over a year now, but it does still feel like there are a few different things that we still need to learn about her. This episode could at least open the door to a little bit of that.
