Arrow season 7 episode 2 spoilers: The danger of the Longbow Hunters
The Longbow Hunters are some of the new cronies for Ricardo Diaz, and it’s fairly clear going into their big episode is that they will make the remaining members of Team Arrow’s lives hell. For starters, they are all extremely organized, and are going to find a way to target specific people. To go beyond just that, though, there’s also a challenge in how divided everyone on Team Arrow is. They’re not working together as they once were, and with that in mind, it’s going to be even harder to stop them.
Speaking via Entertainment Weekly, here is what Emily Bett Rickards had to say on the subject:
“When you have a multitude of people who are sort of distracting [you] and working as a team toward evil, you’re, for lack of a better word, screwed … The team doesn’t necessarily have a designated leader since they’ve been broken up. It goes back to, what is everybody’s cost? If you don’t have the same amount of cost, you’re going to face disagreement and trouble and possibly not having good teamwork against three people that are working together as a team with a dedicated message, which is probably, at the root, of it evil. They’re kind of outnumbered in terms of mental game, which transfers into the powers that they have.”
Seeing the Longbow Hunters at this point is essential since it means that there’s another distraction coming Team Arrow’s way while we watch Oliver Queen struggle with life behind bars. The writers need to find a way for the story of Diggle, Felicity, and others to move forward; they cannot just rely on the fact that this character will likely get out of prison eventually. It doesn’t seem to be happening in the near future and with that in mind, there are new challenges that are going to pop up.
