David Boreanaz on the SEAL Team season 2 shake-up, what’s to come
Wednesday night’s new episode featured the death of Alana Hayes, and as you saw throughout the hour, Jason is having a hard time coping. He’s trying to be there for his family, but it’s difficult given that he is not altogether wired to do so. Instead, he’s more used to just putting his head down and getting to work — he recognizes that people can die, but more often than not, he’s worried about it while out on deployment. It’s different having it back home.

David Boreanaz was brilliant in the episode tonight, and it does feel like there are going to be some more fantastic performances coming up from him as he continues to process this tragedy and what it means for his family. Speaking via TVLine, the actor had the following to say about this episode, coupled with
“It was so hard to go down a path this emotional … but look, at the end of [Episode] 2 I think the floodgates opened. Things are going to shift radically, and I’m really proud of the work from everybody and where we’re at right now. It’s going to be an emotional ride, and some really great work, the next few episodes.”
This is going to be a tough journey for this character coming up, but we think that this is an important story to tell. It’s something that you don’t see represented on TV very much and we do know that there are many out there who are looking for realistic, military-themed stories. While typically it is the person our in the field who is lost, unfortunately there have been situations where the roles have been flipped.
