Manifest episode 3 leads fans down a much bigger mystery
The episode opened with Ben and Michaela realizing that a passenger of Flight 828 was killed following her multiple television appearances. This lead the brother-sister duo to believe that passengers were being targeted. In the end, it wasn’t actually the case. With that said, the mystery does hint that more problems and obstacles are headed for the passengers of Flight 828. Each of them was chosen for a reason to be on that plane so the show could be setting up to depict why each was chosen. It also could start to explain why Ben, Michaela, and Dr. Saanvi Bahl are at the center of everyone’s reason for being on that plane. Bahl found a protein in her and Cal’s blood that could be a major clue as to what happened on that plane; that very well could be a factor.
The episode also continued to show Ben and Grace’s marriage struggles as Grace admits to her coworker and friend that she feels like she’s cheating on her boyfriend with her husband. For us, this was a turning point because it made us slightly question Grace’s intentions when she told Ben she wants him. While we don’t doubt that she loves Ben, the fact that she had admitted earlier to favoring her boyfriend makes us believe that she’s being untruthful.
Again, while the episode focused heavily on the murder, we were also met with Cal and Olive’s awkward relationship. It’s very clear the twins want so much to return to their lives before the flight when they bickered like siblings, but were best friends. Now the twins feel like ordinary siblings, which is a major change for them. They went from completely understanding the other to not being able to connect in that way. So the fact that the duo was able to figure out a new connection for their relationship was great to see and we can’t wait to see more of this.
All in all, the series definitely has the intriguing and edge of our seat factor. This series has a lot of moving parts, but they make it work seamlessly. This is something we hope will continue because it can be easy to start getting so confused that the audience starts to fade. Luckily, it doesn’t look like the case anytime soon.
