New Amsterdam episode 3 preview: Another big Ryan Eggold story

Do you want to know some of what’s coming on New Amsterdam episode 3? Much of its starts with this: You’re going to be seeing Ryan Eggold’s Max in yet another crisis. We’ll be seeing him continue to try to keep everything together in his life, though his cancer diagnosis is going to make everything a little bit more difficult. While he may be able to keep terrible things from happening to him right now, it’s hard to really imagine that he is going to be able to keep on doing this in the future.

10/09/2018 (10:01PM – 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : Reynolds (Jocko Sims) begins to build his department as Dr. Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) battles skepticism from a patient’s parents. Meanwhile, Max (Ryan Eggold) helps Bloom (Janet Montgomery) find a solution for a pregnant patient in a tough spot, all the while continuing to avoid the reality of his diagnosis. Also starring Tyler Labine as Dr. Iggy Frome and Anupam Kher as Dr. Vijay Kapoor. Guest starring Ron Rifkin as Dean Fulton, Lisa O’Hare as Georgia Goodwin, Zabryna Guevara as Dora and Alejandro Hernandez as Casey, Laila Robins as Mrs. Ryland, Matthew Maher as Ray DeMarco and Raquel Dominguez as Janelle Mason TV-14 L

This is a show that is going to constantly try to tow the line between telling case-of-the-week stories and then also larger ones, and we certainly don’t think that what we are about to see here is any exception to the rule. The real goal is just to find a way, somehow, to continue to teach us about these characters even in the midst of everything that they are up to and the people that they are treating.
