Former NCIS: New Orleans showrunner Brad Kern officially fired
Now, though, it seems as though CBS Television Studios has decided to formally make a move here. In a new statement (via Deadline), the studio had the following to say:
“We have ended Brad Kern’s role as consulting producer on NCIS: New Orleans and his overall deal with the studio.”
The studio had already made some changes prior to the latest investigation into Kern, with Christopher Silber being promoted to showrunner. He has overseen the entirety of season 5.

This move happening right now is rather essential for many reasons, with the biggest one being that it allows everyone on the show to move forward and get away from some of the controversies of the past. These headlines have been a dark cloud hovering over the show for the past year and the cast and crew don’t deserve to have to routinely deal with this. The move also represents another further changing of the guard at CBS after Les Moonves, the former head of the network, was removed following a number of allegations against him. CBS as a whole needs to figure out the right away to make things work in the weeks and months to come, and starting to distance themselves of some problems from the past is the right way to kick things off.
