Ahead of Designated Survivor season 3, Netflix gets first two seasons
The streaming service has now officially added the first two seasons of the Kiefer Sutherland series, which previously was on Hulu in the United States even if it was on Netflix internationally. This basically means that everyone out there is going to have a chance to really check out the show in the event that they haven’t before, and it helps to ensure that season 3 will be more successful when it does premiere.
It does feel fairly clear in many ways while Netflix would want this show, mostly because they are losing House of Cards in terms of new episodes. With Designated Survivor, you’ve got a series that does fit that same political mold and one that will offer up some dramatic twists. With it moving over to Netflix, the show also has a chance to get a little bit edgier and shift its format and style around. While we do not anticipate that there are going to be any dramatic changes with the upcoming season, there could be small alterations that come with the move.
As of right now, there are ten episodes that are set to air on Netflix in the new year. As for whether or not there could be more beyond that, we have a hard time imagining that the streaming service would have picked the series up just so that they could cancel it so soon after the fact. We think that, provided that it does manage to perform well enough, there is room for it to fare pretty well for at least a few more seasons beyond this one.
