NCIS season 16 spoilers: Kasie Hines on the quest to find Vance

The NCIS season 16 premiere is finally right around the corner and with that, we are starting to get a little bit closer to getting some answers when it comes to Vance’s abduction situation.

Moving into the premiere, one of the major questions that we have is how quickly Kasie Hines is going to be involved in the search for Leon Vance. She’s not even an official member of the team, for starters, and beyond that, she doesn’t know any of these people all that well! It’s sometimes hard to get a good working relationship going with people you’re still getting to know, especially when you are replacing someone like Abby who was a natural part of that family for years. You’re a bit of an outsider and that can make things difficult when trying to find your footing in a new environment.

Luckily, it doesn’t feel like Kasie is letting that get to her at all in the midst of trying to help everyone. In speaking further on this subject to Newsweek, Diona Reasonover had the following to pass along:

“Kasie is a great team player, and so she’s in it … When she sees all these people scrambling, all she’s going to do is throw herself in there and say, ‘How can I help?’”

We do think that this will be how Kasie wins everyone over — her personality, her willingness to learn, and her ability at her job. She’s not going to be trying to be Abby 2.0 and that’s something that is likely going to help her out in the weeks to come not only with the team that misses Abby but also with the viewers. There will be a time potentially to learn more about Kasie, but we’re not exactly at that point just yet. Once we’re a handful of episodes into the season, that’s something that may be a little more present.
