Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke (fittingly) gets a dragon tattoo
Anyway, Emilia Clarke has officially followed a tradition set by many of her fellow Game of Thrones co-stars Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner in getting a tattoo commemorating her time on the show. All of them have gotten tattoos that very much fit their run on the show — Williams got “no one,” while Turner has one featuring the House Stark sigil alongside the message of “the pack survives.”
Now, Clarke has revealed that her tattoo (located on her wrist) features three dragons in commemoration of her role as Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targeryan. It’s a nice little reminder of her work on the show and the obvious impact that it’s had on her life. Heck, it’s had an enormous impact on every actor’s life. With a few exceptions, most of these cast members were unknown going into the show — Peter Dinklage was a known name, but he joked at the Emmys that his entire life has changed since first joining the show to the point where he can barely walk down a street anymore. This show has brought these actors all sorts of new career opportunities and we’re sure there is endless gratitude because of that.
We’ll see how many more tattoos come out of this now – we expect a few more.
The final season of Game of Thrones will premiere on HBO in 2019. It will run for only six episodes, but all indications are that these are some of the longest episodes for the series that we’ve seen to date.
