Timeless notes: A new airplane banner, script front pages, and more
We’ve proclaimed it many times that the pier is one of our favorite places, and earlier today, a plan with a very specific #SaveTimeless message flew over the area as a part of its tour of Southern California. (Thanks to Kristi Jacobsen for the video, which you can see below.) This gives you a pretty good view of the banner, which flew over a very-populated part of town. The beaches down in Santa Monica can be pretty packed on a weekend this time of year, so you can be assured that many people saw it.
This banner should be a reminder that even though NBC already picked up the series for a two-episode “finale,” Clockblockers are still fighting for more. If this banner ends up leading to more viewership for the movie (or at the very least, views on Hulu), maybe that’s enough to get someone else interested again. It’s all about drumming up interest and getting people engaged in the series if they haven’t heard of it / seen it already.
Meanwhile, the latest flyby also caught the attention of Sony’s own Chris Parnell, who took advantage of an opportunity to share a message of his own.
You can see the script pages for the two-part “finale” below, just in case you are curious. They don’t give all that much away, but we certainly think that there are plenty of people out there who will be excited regardless. Filming for these episodes will begin before long, and they will air at some point over the holiday season. Think of Timeless as a gift for the most wonderful time of the year — hopefully, with the right promotion and with great ratings, it can be the gift that keeps on giving. We certainly do think that it’s possible the show performs better later this year than it did for much of season 2 — more viewers will know about the show and beyond that, there tend to just by more people watching TV live during some of the colder months of the year.
