NCIS: New Orleans season 5: Geoffrey Owens hopes; 200th episode photo

At this point, there’s a good chance that you have heard the news already — Geoffrey Owens will be appearing on NCIS: New Orleans. The former Cosby Show actor is appearing for at least one episode as a Commander who has ties to Dwayne Pride. He’s someone who stops back and wants to make sure that he is okay after what happened at the end of this past season — which, of course, was when the character was shot.

Is this appearance meant to be a one-episode gig? It seems that way, especially since Owens has a prominent gig coming up on The Haves and the Have Nots. There is only so much that he can do! Yet, the exciting thing about this character on paper is that there could be chances for him to return in the future.

Personally, we hope that there are some opportunities to feature Owens beyond this episode, and it’s easy to see situations where he could be valuable. Wouldn’t it be nice to get some more flashback stories that give you more of a sense as to what his relationship with Pride is really like, and what they’ve been through in the past? There’s a lot of fun that could be had here just in terms of showing off this friendship.
