Fear the Walking Dead season 4 episode 13: John, Strand, and a ‘raft’

On Sunday’s Fear the Walking Dead season 4 episode 13, you’re going to finally get a chance to pick up on the story of John Dorie and Victor Strand. These two characters have been MIA for much of the second half of the season — Colman Domingo has been around in the second half of the season more so as a director as an actor!

Yet, this upcoming episode is going to be the perfect showcase for him as a performer, as Strand and John have themselves a rather difficult challenge coming up. They need to figure out a way in which to escape their current situation before they run out of rations. They also want to be able to find some other members of their group.

For John, he seems to be desperate to find some sort of way in which to make a move forward without waiting for some of the flood waters to die down. He doesn’t want to take a risk when he doesn’t have to, and in what is some good character evolution for Strand, he also doesn’t want to put himself where he unnecessarily could have something happen to him. This is a guy who certainly may have some regrets over some of the decisions that he’s made in the past. If the cards had fallen a little bit differently for him over time, there’s a good chance that he could’ve been in a much better place right now when it comes to his life.

By the end of this episode, we hopefully are going to get a little bit closer to a reunion. We are enjoying some of these individual stories, but at the same time a reunion is really important for the future trajectory of the series. It won’t work anywhere near as well without it.
