Law & Order: SVU season 20: Behind the scenes via Ice-T

Want to know what it’s like for the cast and crew of Law & Order: SVU out and about in New York City? We think the photo HERE via series star Ice-T is a pretty good example. It can be incredibly rewarding, but at the same time a challenge.

There are a number of different issues that you have to address when filming out in Manhattan, starting of course with the nightmare of shutting down city streets and dealing with angry commuters. Traffic in New York City is bad, but then you also add to it film crews and other things that are constantly going on. Then, you’ve also got to deal with the natural noise of the city — sometimes, it works to your advantage, but at other times it can be a bit overwhelming. You want it to be organic without it being an interruption.

Meanwhile, you also want to figure out a way in order to welcome the fans who are at the location, but also have them far enough away so that there aren’t any other interruptions there, either. That’s a delicate part of production since you have to be grateful that they are there. After all, they are the reason that you even have a show!

At the moment, the production team should be a good chunk into the first part of the season, and we know that there are several stories that will be addressed. You’re going to get a chance to explore Rollins’ past, understand more how Fin is still able to be at SVU, and see how Stone is recovering from the death of his sister. There is a lot that this series has to take on, and a reasonably short amount of time for it to happen.
