9-1-1 season 2 episode 1 spoilers: Start time, first premiere details!
Here’s really the thing that you should know — this premiere episode is going to air immediately following the NFL Doubleheader. We’re going to see this episode air simultaneously coast-to-coast, but it depends heavily on where you are. (In the West Coast, it will air later — just in case you aren’t around early on.) At the moment, the tentative start time for the premiere is 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. Just be prepared to be flexible depending on what happens with football.
This complicated premiere is a way in which to get even larger ratings for the show, which we understand — this show was a huge hit in season 1 and with Jennifer Love Hewitt coming on board, clearly there are people who want to see it get off to a great start. As to whether or not it will, that’s going to just be up to viewers.
We’ve seen many previews promising that the premiere episode is going to be intense and potentially dangerous, and the new synopsis below for the episode reflects that. There will be some personal moments, but also a good bit of chaos:
On one of the hottest days of the year, the first responders feel the pressure as harrowing incidents keep happening around the city, including a road rage accident involving a van full of tourists, an emergency at an auto-repair shop and a veteran with a live grenade embedded in his leg. Meanwhile, Buck gets a surprise visit from his sister, Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Also, Athena questions her relationship with Bobby. Then, at the fire station, handsome new hire Eddie (Ryan Guzman) jeopardizes Buck’s chances of being chosen for a fireman calendar in the all-new “Under Pressure” Season Premiere, Pt. 1, episode of 9-1-1 airing Sunday, Sept. 23.
