Outlander, Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan snubbed by People’s Choice Awards; what you can do
Today, the awards show (which is moving to E! after years over at CBS) released their shortlist of nominees across a number of different categories. You can check out the full ballot here, and what you are going to realize rather-quickly is that Outlander isn’t getting anywhere near the love it deserves. Mind you, this is a show that won the top TV prize at the People’s Choice Awards when it was last on the air in January 2017 — at that time, we railed against the for completely ignoring it during the on-air broadcast for some unknown reason. While they were filming, they could have easily shown a video package featuring Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe accepting the awards overseas.

Ultimately, the People’s Choice Awards are just making it harder on Outlander fans given that now, you’re going to have to submit the show and its stars as write-in candidates across a number of different categories, whether it be Male TV Star, Female TV Star, Sci-Fi / Fantasy Show, and The Show of 2018. If this happens and enough write-in votes are tabulated, it’s possible that Outlander will be able to make the official nominee list down the line. We’ve seen it happen before with the PCAs, but it is rather frustrating when you look at some of the nominees that are included across some of the categories. Some feel completely random, and others don’t have all that much in the way of significant awards-show clout.
If there is something that may be hurting Outlander at the moment, it is likely the fact that it’s been a good year or so since season 3 premiered. That may be a part of why the series is being left out, but you also have to remember that the show hasn’t had a chance to be recognized for that season yet! With some of the other awards-show snubs as of late Outlander deserves some love; doing some write-in campaigns is the best way to make it happen. Fingers crossed that it can.
Update: We’ve now heard that Outlander is not eligible for the PCAs this year, because it falls outside the calendar year. Rest assured, we’ll have more thoughts on this soon.

Didn’t make it because of the time frame? these actors worked under extremely bad weather conditions. Let’s not mention how fantastic the series is and how great the performances are from every actor and of course the brilliance of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. Outlander deserves to be nominated together with cast members. No time frame? then make the time, without the viewers, you have nothing.

I cannot believe that Outlander has not been included in the PCA nominations. This show and the actors, especially Sam Heughan are extremely gifted actors who portray very difficult and complex characters that face extreme challenges. They make the scenes so realistic that it is shocking. The talent is huge. The series and its creators are amazing and this show above all others deserves to be included.

A slap in the face for Outlander that won all the categories it was nominated in in 2016, how dare E not even consider Outlander and it’s stars!!! All the EW magazine covers, interviews etc and not to even be considered is the ultimate travesty!!! So come on Ol fandom flood E’s PCA categories with Sam, Cait, and Outlander 25 a day and if you can use all the e-mails available to you.

This is a travesty! Outlander deserves to be in the PCA more than any other show! It swept the board in the last PCA in all of the categories it was in which should have given them an automatic place in this year’s cintest! A disgraceful snub! E should be ashamed of themselves!

Does anyone know when the year begins and ends for inclusion of the shows? It seems wrong that last year it started in September and finished in November, which is in this year, and yet did not qualify. If it qualified last year then it is not a whole year since then. I am bewildered!!
