Lethal Weapon season 3 promo: Cole is (literally) on fire
At this point, it’s reasonably clear as to how Fox is planning to promote this show, and also what their focus is going to be: They want to show that this new relationship is all about fun, but also about solving crimes and taking out bad guys. The series is probably doing its best to not focus on Martin Riggs, largely because there is a certain awareness on some level that there are no benefits in doing so. It’s probably only going to remind more people out there that they are unhappy about the fact that he is no longer a part of the series.

What we know about Wesley Cole (played by Seann William Scott) is that he has a military history, he is incredibly resourceful, and he is in Los Angeles in order to reconnect with his ex and also the kid that the two parties share. After spending so much of his life as a nomad, he is ready to settle in to something that is a little bit more permanent.
So, will the new iteration of the show actually work? At the moment we definitely do consider that to be a mystery, and not one that will be answered one week in. We have a feeling that come week three or week four, we’ll have a good sense as to whether or not casual viewers are embracing the new version of the series and that will determine its future more than anything else.
