Salvation season 2 episode 11 preview: ‘Celebration Day’ + ratings talk
The first thing we want to point out in regards to Salvation season 2 episode 11 is its title: “Celebration Day.” That’s the sort of thing that will invoke a lot of emotions, potentially of a battle well-fought and characters actually getting a chance for some sort of reprieve.
Yet, are they actually going to get it? That’s something worth wondering right now, and wonder is all we have given that CBS has not exactly released a lot of information at the moment about what’s coming. We foresee this being the sort of episode where some of our heroes start to think that they’ve reached the end of the road and achieved some victory … only for something else to arrive at the last minute and ruin everything. It’s something that is so effective on these sort of shows just because there’s always a desire for a big, dramatic twist.
So rather than spend too much time speculating on an episode when there isn’t all that much to speculate on, let’s instead pose the following question: How are the ratings? Are we getting closer to a renewal in the near future? Well, we’re not altogether hopeful. Season 2 is averaging just a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is down dramatically from the ratings from season 1. When you consider that the ratings for that season basically put the show on the bubble, it’s hard to really feel anything other than a sense of dread right now. The biggest thing to hope for is that there’s a way the numbers tick up a little bit over the next few weeks and that the network is happy with the rise.
For the time being, though, our advice is simply to expect the worst and hope for the best.

Jillian is totally brainwashed. Can’t believe she actually gave rail gun plans to that cult.

One problem is that it’s difficult for this show to attract new viewers, because the plot and characters are complicated; if someone tunes in for the first time they would be totally lost. I wonder how many people “heard” that the show was great, tried watching and didn’t make it past one episode for that reason.

I reckon it will play out this way over the next two/three episodes, the rail gun and solar sail is slowly knocking the asteroid off cause. People even start planning for the future.
The cult destroys the rail gun an something goes wrong with the solar sail.
An Darius is force to turn to the only other people who he knows that supposedly had a plan to save earth, Nicolas and his organisation.

It’s not about the asteroid anymore. They barely mention it, it’s all about politics and spys.
