Outlander notes: Conventions, journeys, and reflective moments

Outlander

There are a number of different odds and ends to get to in this morning edition of Outlander notes, especially we’re at a spot where cast members are scattered and promotion is reasonably scarce.

Yet, there has been some appearance from cast members as Wizard World in Chicago over the past few days, including Caitriona Balfe, Graham McTavish, and series author Diana Gabaldon. There was also an appearance via Skype via star Sam Heughan, which we personally do consider still to be rather cool because having a conversation with someone often creates a long-lasting experience that you don’t get many other places.

Below, you can see via the convention’s Facebook a video featuring a number of people waiting in line to see Sam; basically, this is a reminder that he remains a commodity even if he is not the convention at present. Sam is going to be heading off to South Africa now to film his movie Bloodshot, which he going to be doing for the immediate future. He will be in America later this fall for New York Comic-Con, and after that, we’ll wait and see precisely what happens. We know that Balfe has already started filming her next project, the untitled Ford / Ferrari movie, in Los Angeles. It is a schedule change for her that prompted her having to arrive in Chicago a little bit earlier than previously planned.

Obviously, we’re excited to see what all actors have planned in the months ahead … and we’re still crossing our fingers for some casting news featuring some other actors who are a part of the show.

This comes via Sony’s own Chris Parnell, one of Outlander’s biggest champions on a studio level. He had a chance to visit Culloden Moor recently and experience its power in person. There are few other places in the world quite like it. It’s one thing to feel what happened here through the story of the show. It’s another thing altogether to be there and see it in person.
