Suits season 8 episode 6 preview: Donna stays suspicious of Samantha

Moving into Suits season 8 episode 6, one of the familiar themes of the first half of this season is rearing its head again. Earlier on this season, it was clear that Donna had some serious trust issues with Samantha Wheeler, largely because she perceived her to be one of the few people she had a hard time reading. She has no consistent backstory, she’s incredibly cutthroat, and she has established herself to not be much of a team player.

Basically, it’s the latter that may be the problem coming up next week, judging from the Suits season 8 episode 6 synopsis below:

Basically, think of this almost as a boy-who-cried-wolf sort of situation. Samantha could be 100% genuine with some of what she’s trying to do in order to help out, but the big problem here is that Donna may not believe her just because she is seeing very little reason to ultimately trust her. Why would she suddenly help out now? It could be that Katherine Heigl’s character really is looking to do something sinister or get one over on Donna; or, it could just be that she’s trying to take some of the advice from Robert Zane to heart. If that is what she’s trying to do, what that effectively means is that she’s trying to actually build a career that could last a while — though, of course, she also has another motivation here in that she wants her name on the wall.

As for the state of things with Harvey and Louis, we do think that these two guys are going to figure out some of their issues. The big problem that they just run into is that they have two fewer go-betweens without Mike and Rachel around. They were rather proficient in getting them out of terrible situations.
