Save Shadowhunters update: Analyzing recent statements + more

Shadowhunters season 3 spoilers

Today’s Save Shadowhunters update is going to be mostly about just one thing: Analyzing the meaning of a recent statement via Martin Moszkowicz, the head of Constantin Film. This is the production company behind the show, and they are looking into a number of different ways in which to bring it back.

The statement below (via google translate) is from the fine folks over at @NephilimUpdates, as the original interview took place in a German publication. The interview was actually done a little ways back and has only recently been published, but it does give you a sense as to what some of the plans are and how much the production company is eager to continue fighting to get more of the series. Even if you don’t agree with every single thing that Constantin does behind the scenes, they do make money off of Shadowhunters (television is first and foremost a business after all) and therefore, we do think that they want to save Shadowhunters and get it on the air somewhere. We are sure that they want to please the fans, but they also want to make money to keep the show going.

As for the talk about a fourth season with “final episodes,” we don’t want to get too caught up on that since it could be translation errors or that Martin is simply referring to the final two episodes as the fourth season. That doesn’t matter so much because this is the situation that we’re in right now. The big takeaway from this snippet is mostly that Netflix and Freeform are not interested in moving forward, but they are still looking into other options.

So why is there yet another mention of other Cassandra Clare stories in here? We know that there have been reports about The Infernal Devices before, but we personally see that as a sort of last-resort option in the event there is no other way to move forward with the Shadowhunters series we know and love. As we’ve said, Constantin does know what makes them money better than anyone and their top priority remains finding a home for the series that is profitable.
