Chicago Fire season 7 spoilers: Kristen Gutoskie playing ‘quirky’ character

Who wants some new Chicago Fire season 7 casting news to kick off the weekend? CarterMatt is ready to give you the details!

According to a report from Deadline, Kristen Gutoskie of The Vampire Diaries and Lethal Weapon is set to recur over the course of the coming episodes as Chloe, a character who is described as “the sweet, fun, spunky, adorable, lovable girl you’d introduce to your mom with full confidence.” That’s an interesting description for a character given that there are a lot of dark moments and not-so-nice people you meet outside of Firehouse 51.

With a description like that, the easy assumption that you would make is that this could be a new love interest for someone … but who? We do understand that there are some hoping that Casey finds someone to heal his broken heart — provided, of course, that we actually end up seeing him and Dawson split up. We’re a little torn on this given that it still feels a little bit too soon.

However, we wouldn’t mind seeing our guy Joe Cruz get some sort of established love interest, mostly because the ship has sailed for him and Brett seemingly and we think that, at least on some level, he understands that. We don’t want to see Severide with anyone other than Stella at this point, and many of the other male characters on the show are involved in some other relationship already.

Ultimately, we figure that in due time, all will become clearer — we look forward to Chloe hopefully bringing a little bit of happiness to Firehouse 51, especially since this is the sort of place that could use it.
