MasterChef season 9 episode 11 video: Cooking for kids
There are fewer things more challenging for any cook than trying to find a way to please kids, given that they are extremely picky, argumentative, and they don’t like stepping outside of their comfort zone. While adults often debate as to whether or not they will want to send some food back, kids have no problem complaining more often than not. While the preview that CarterMatt has for you below does not give too much away when it comes to specific problems the remaining contestants are going to have, we imagine that the total amount of complaints could end up being rather overwhelming. We’ve already seen at times some struggles when it comes to handling the pressure of having to cook for many people on the fly.
Beyond just the nature of this particular challenge, one of the things that we are the most excited about entering this episode is the parity between the contestants. There are some seasons of this show where you can predict some of the home cooks who are going to be safe and some of the home cooks who are going to be in jeopardy. However, that’s not really something that is happening here. We do still think that the majority of the contestants left have a genuine chance to win, but they have to be able to show they are well-rounded in just about every aspect of the kitchen. Sure, they do need to prove that they can take on Mystery Box challenges without fail, but they also need to be able to please any client that is put before them — even if the said client is a little kid.
