Grey’s Anatomy season 15 spoilers: Nashville’s Chris Carmack set to recur

Grey's Anatomy season 14

Grey’s Anatomy season 15 has just cast a particularly noteworthy character, and that is probably especially true if you love Nashville.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Chris Carmack (who played Will on the series) is going to be recurring over the course of the fall in the role of an orthopedic surgeon. While the character’s actual name has not been made public as of yet, he does come bearing a rather-notable nickname: “Ortho God.” Apparently, he is rather good at what he does and is probably extremely confident about his work at the same time. One of the things that we’ve really come to see over time with Grey’s Anatomy is that there are these sort of doctors who fashion themselves as rockstars and untouchable figures. We saw a little of this with Tom last season, and there are probably going to be plenty more coming in the future.

Will Carmack help to fill the void left by Martin Henderson, who departed after a handful of season 14 episodes? It’s possible, though we hesitate to speculate that this character will someday become a love interest to Meredith. We know that there are still a lot of people out there holding a candle for Scott Speedman, even though he has already said that he is probably not returning after a memorable one-episode stint as Dr. Nick Marsh. (This character made more of an impact on this show in one episode than we’ve seen many other characters make in four or five.)

Grey’s Anatomy first started filming over the past week doing exterior work in Seattle. The series will return to ABC on Thursday, September 27 with a two-hour premiere that will hopefully take a look at the cliffhanger from the season 14 finale: Teddy’s return, and also her pregnancy.
