Grey’s Anatomy season 15 will film in Seattle, Camilla Luddington confirms
Before getting into that, it does appear, per what Luddington told TVLine, as though some cast members are going back to Seattle to film some more exterior shots! This is something that we’ve been hoping would happen again for a little while now. This basically allows for there to be some more authenticity and it gives the show a more-unique flair. There aren’t many shows at all that film in Seattle, even for a short period of time, so it’s welcome. Our feeling is that the cast will bank a number of episodes’ worth of exterior shots up in the Emerald City before coming back to do more work in Los Angeles, where all of the interior sets are located.
In getting specifically into Jo’s story, Luddington also teased that we could get a good sense moving forward as to what the specific medical focus is going to be for her character moving into the future:
“I’ve heard rumors — rumors-rumors — that Jo might find her specialty this season, which is really exciting and is a long time coming … I’m interested to see what it is.”
Camilla also is interested in exploring more of her birth family, which is something that we’re also certainly for since it gives us a chance to see some wonderful guest stars on the show! We’re basically all for anything that allows for some super-talented people to stop by on the series; we saw a little bit of that on season 14, where Lindsay Wagner stopped by to play the part of Alex’s mother.

Season 15 of Grey’s Anatomy is currently expected to launch this fall; hopefully, we will have some more insight on that in the near future.
